Passing CFA Level 1 Exam (Bye Bye 2010 Weekends…)
I’m VERY HAPPY to report that my learning strategies apparently worked!!!

Pure Unadulterated Awesomeness
Obviously the big major humongous thanks go to:
- My wife, who’d been very patient with me for geeking out for many, many weekends, and was supportive through and through. My parents, who had been very supportive and were obviously very proud to hear that I passed this
- My bosses! Who have been very understanding and very supportive through and through. Better bosses than you guys, I can’t really find!
- My fellow CFA candidates over at CFA Email Study Group! You guys have been AWESOME
Congrats to all of you who have passed! Those of you who didn’t, I’m looking forward to see you in June 2010 for L2 anyway, because I KNOW YOU WILL KILL L1 IN DECEMBER! - His Awesomeness, His Coolness, His Hipness, my one and only:

This thing? IT ROCKS, BABY.
I have to say I hesitated for a while before I signed up for Level 2. Do I really want to burn all those weekends away again? Really? Really really? For another year until June 2010? What am I thinking?
Unfortunately, my fingers are faster than my doubts. There goes my weekends again in 2010…

Man, I Must Love CFA Really Bad To Do This...
See you all in Level 2, folks

did everyone from the study group pass? I unsubscribed after the exam when more of those Dec 2009 ppl joined… kinda do not want to think of CFA anymore after the exam. Hehe…
Has anyone started a Level 2 2010 study group yet? I haven’t registered but would like to know more about what others feel about continuing to L2.
How are you study plans currently? I am going to take JLPT3 this Dec. So, probably concentrate on that first.

Malcolm, I have started
I started creating my study notes 2 days ago. I’m hoping to clear the first reading on Quants by today.
Veggie, not everyone, but most of the regulars passed. Most of us are continuing with Level 2, seems that they’re starting in September or October… My plan right now is to finish reading everything cover to cover by December. After that, review until June 2010.

Ray, wow! you have time to read from cover to cover? I read really slowly so i don’t think I can do from cover to cover with CFAI textbooks. I am thinking of getting Schweser again. Have you heard whether it is as good as it’s L1 notes?

LEVEL 1 CANDIDATE : Is it required to score 70% above in each subject, as for eg.alternative investment has less number of questions and its 70% (70% of
would be 5.6~ or 6 and if a student gets only 4 correct it means that he is failed whereas as a gross he could have get 70% of 240 or 168 answers correct or more than that.
If you have a answer then please reply to me.
Thanks

Manish: no need to score above 70% in all subjects. But Ethics can really help you if you’re a borderline case.
